Friends when in the midst of a storm we all need to get some sunlight in
This Sunday I wanted to share an uplifting story from Sherrie Anne about her love for her son and what The Peytons Light Foundation was able to do to support his cause.
At the age of 3 my son, Lucian was diagnosed with Autism. We gave up everything to give home a better life: sold our cars, pensions and I even had to resign from my job .
He was constantly in and out of Mt. Hope Hospital every 3 months with severe throat infections. At the age of 6, his Speech Therapist told us it is highly unlikely that he would speak and We were devastated.
We had to make a choice between sending him to therapy or keeping him healthy and we chose the latter “health”.
Lucian is presently 9 years and has a vocabulary of about 70 words. I am presently a single stay at home mom who depends on family members to help out financially and it is a constant challenge for me.
I was introduced to Nirala through a mutual friend and found out about The Peyton’s Light Foundation. When I read about Peyton’s journey and the continuous struggles both she and her parents face daily I instantly felt a connection.
Nirala reminded me that as parents/ caregivers of Special Needs persons we must never give up and we have to fight and advocate for our kids.
Reading Peyton’s story/journey brought about a lot of emotions but what impressed me the most was the true happiness, peace and contentment Peyton showed with every story … every accomplishment she made and even with every struggle.
I looked at Peyton and I saw a calm, peaceful determination radiating through her. I kept thinking to myself through all the pain and agony she feels she continues to smile. Peyton’s Light has renewed my determination to ensure Lucian gets a fighting chance at every level possible for his development.
I would like to thank Peyton’s Light Foundation for their kind patronage which has allowed me to pay for my son’s semi-annual blood tests.
Thank you also for reminding me to always to try to extend to others a hand even in the face of our biggest challenges.
Dear All let us take Sherri Anne’s message with us and try to apply it to our daily lives. Remember despite your tears and fears we all have that ability to brighten each other’s lives by showering our Love and Light ..
I promise you unexpected blessings will come your way
Happy Sunday All and a Little Inspiration for the week ahead!
Love and Light to all
