Xion and his Mom thanks Peyton’s Light Foundation for his therapy

“Xion Dalzell’s medical journey began at one year old when he was diagnosed with a seizure disorder, and further testing revealed an underdeveloped corpus callosum. After his first seizure, for months many followed including a prolonged 20-minute episode that ultimately led to cerebral palsy. Today, at 9 years old, Xion lives with epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and autism, along with a global developmental delay. Though he isn’t able to walk or talk, he has the most beautiful smile that lights up any room. His spirit is loving, his presence is powerful, and his immense strength and resilience is truly inspiring.

Since Xion’s diagnosis, he has been enrolled in therapies to support his ability to walk, talk, and communicate . Swimming with MDS Swim School Ltd is one of the Programs that has contributed to his steady progress over time. However, with these opportunities also come significant financial challenges, and there are moments when I truly struggle.

I was first introduced to the Peyton’s Light Foundation through MDS Swim School, who understood my situation and highly recommended them. The foundation created by a parent who have lived through similar experiences and while she and her husband continue to face their own challenges, this foundation has become a beacon of hope for families like mine. Their response to my request was impressively fast and graciously offered to cover two months of Xion’s swim therapy.

“Thank you, Peyton, for shining your light so beautifully. Your strength and spirit brought Peyton’s Light Foundation into being, and I am grateful every day for the hope and connection it offers us . “
