Kermika Thanks Peyton’s Light Foundation for Caring

My little a daughter Kermika was a normal happy little 9 year old until March 5th, 2018. At around 2:00 am, Kermika began experiencing convulsions and suffered a cardiac arrest. She was able to communicate and move around after being hospitalized. While in ICU , She gradually became immobile and now is currently in a vegetative state. Kermika was admitted to the pediatric ward for five months and three weeks and I was then told that the doctors could no longer help with her condition. Also , I was given a lengthy list of medical supplies and equipment to purchase which I was unable to afford. The current state of Kermika is terrible, her hands are tightly gripped together in an upward position, her spine is twisted and her ribcage is also protruding. The health care system frustrates me as Kermika has been placed on many waiting lists. These lists however, based on our previous interaction with hospitals has taken nearly two years just to get her previous teeth removed which led to serious decay. Kermika is now 16 years old and it has been 6 years that she has been bed ridden and u able to eat or speak. It has been getting harder for me to keep my sanity since I could no longer bear the pain and guilt seeing my child suffer in pain and discomfort because I have been pleading for medical equipment and a diagnosis from a more advanced institute without success for a long time. One day during Kermika’s doctor visit Dr Akan told our social worker Ms. Browne – Harry about The Peyton’s Light Foundation and she contacted Nirala . I am grateful that she took the time to read about my circumstances and she started making calls and connecting me with other associations to help Kermika. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Peyton’s Light Foundation for their outstanding support in providing my family with essential medical equipment and supplies for my daughter, Kermika Regis. The assistance with the cases of PediaSure for my daughter has been incredibly beneficial during this challenging time. We are deeply thankful to the Peyton’s Light Foundation and its generous donors for their compassion and support.
